Isadoora Announces Cast for "Sister Mary Ignatius Explains It All For You" and "The Actor's Nightmare"

STURGEON BAY (October 4, 2004) Isadoora Theatre Company, in association with Theatre M, opens three weekends of comedy with "Sister Mary Ignatius Explains It All For You" and "The Actor's Nightmare," an evening of one-act comedies by Christopher Durang. The community based theatre company features well-known community members directed by Mark Moede.

The cast consists of Richard Baker, Laurel Brooks, Barbara Cihlar, Quinn Hartel, Chris Milton, Andrew Olson, Vance Toivonen, Mary White and Christine Zeimer. Michael Christman is the lighting and scenic designer, Lori Meyer is the props/costume mistress and Roger Kuhns is technical director.

The show opens with a dinner theatre at Andres' Food & Spirits in Sturgeon Bay on Sat., Oct 16 and Sun., Oct 17 with food served at 6:30 and the show at 7:30 pm. The company travels to Fish Creek October 22, 23 & 24 for performances at the Gibraltar Town Hall. The following weekend of October 28-31 the show travels south to Third Avenue Playhouse.

The two one-act comedies are designed to form an evening of entertainment with a brief intermission between the acts. "The Actor's Nightmare" is a hilarious spoof of the plight of a stranger who wanders into a production and is suddenly pushed on stage to replace an ailing actor. Laughs abound, as the other actors must shift to accommodate the directions the stranger takes them. "Sister Mary Ignatius Explains It All For You," the winner of an Obie Award, is an uproariously funny and at times bitingly irreverent satire of a teaching nun. Former students heat up the action when they return to Sister Mary's classroom to update her on their lives. Their stories are disturbing but also very funny. It quickly becomes apparent that they all share a loathing for Sister Mary and the unyielding dogma she forced on them in their formative years.

Tickets for the show, heavy hors d'oeuvres, and dessert are $25 at Andres' Food & Spirits. Serving begins at 6:30 pm with the show starting at 7:30 pm. Tickets for the Gibraltar Town Hall and Third Avenue Playhouse shows are $12 adults, $10 seniors and $7 children. For tickets call 493-DOOR (3667).
