Isadoora contributes to Door County Reads with satirical tale of false identity, fraud, and mystery in AS BEES IN HONEY DROWN

Now in their fifth year of presenting play readings for the popular Door County Reads event, Isadoora Theatre Company is proud to participate once again in 2013. This Tuesday evening, kick your imagination into gear as members of Isadoora offer a staged reading of Douglas Carter Beane's tale of false identity and fraud, AS BEES IN HONEY DROWN.

A newly successful young writer catches the attention of an exotic, black-clad woman who promises to make him a celebrity and then vanishes, leaving him deeply in debt for all their expensive dinners and accommodations.  Can he solve the mystery of her disappearance and enjoy a bit of retribution?

"...a breathless romp through the fast and furious scene of America's celebrity culture!" (Door County Arts & Culture Insider)

"...a delicious soufflé of a satire..."(NY Times)

In the spirit of Door County Reads 2013's Sherlockian novel,The Beekeeper's Apprentice, please join us to explore this modern mystery of false identity, fraud, and the price of fame. A satire of materialistic and image-driven society, AS BEES IN HONEY DROWN will be presented one night only, at the Third Avenue Playhouse's Studio Theatre, on Tuesday, January 29 at 7:00pm.  Directed by Ross Dippel and and featuring Isadoora favorites Madelyn DePrey, Mary Hall, Chad Luberger, Ben Meyer, Andrew Olson, Angela Olson, and Katie Schnorr, the performance is free and open to the public (please note that some language and situations may not be appropriate for children).  As is Isadoora tradition, the performance will be followed by a "Talk Back" audience discussion.
