Cast Announced for Upcoming Musical "She Loves Me"

Isadoora Theatre Company is happy to introduce the cast for its upcoming production of “She Loves Me” with book by Joe Masteroff, music by Jerry Bock, and lyrics by Sheldon Harnick. Isadoora veterans Ginger Auld, director, and Craig McClelland, music director are at the helm for the second show of three in Isadoora’s seventh season. “She Loves Me” will be the first theatrical performance to take place in Birch Creek Music Performance Center’s newest facility, Juniper Hall, and runs February 12-15 and 19-22 in Egg Harbor.

Arriving just in time for Valentine’s Day, “She Loves Me” is the story of Georg and Amalia, two perfume shop employees who are constantly at odds, unaware that each is actually the other’s secret lonely hearts pen pal. This comical, timeless tale of romance is based on the play “Parfumerie” by Miklos Laszlo, which was also the inspiration for three motion pictures, the most recent of these being “You’ve Got Mail” starring Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan. “She Loves Me” is set in 1934 Budapest, and was nominated for the Tony Award for Best Musical and the revival won the Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Musical Revival.

Our two lovebirds are played by returning actress Mary Hall (Amalia) and fresh-to-the-stage Elliot Goettelman (Georg).  The other members of this stellar cast include Bill Bauernfeind as Maraczek, Sean Freeman as Arpad, Andy Hall as Sipos, Hervy Hodges as Kodaly, and Katie Schnorr as Ilona.  The cast is rounded out by Ann Birnschein, Marcel Bruyere, David Clowers, Nancy Felhofer, Lauren Gilmore, Kathleen Harris, Jeneen McDonald, Anne St. Henry, and George Straka.  The orchestra includes:  Andy Anderson, trumpet, Beth Chafey-Hon, violin, Pamela Johnson, flute, Bruce Newbern, percussion, and Janet Osterburg, piano/keyboard.

Production team members include: Liz Bobbe as Stage Manager, with Joy Manweiler as Assistant Stage Manager; David Alley on Lighting; Ann Tenelle, Costume Designer, with assistant costumer, Tom Mall; Prop Mistress Marty Todd; and set construction by Mark Bushman. Ann Birnschein and Craig Konowalski are the Production Coordinators.

Thursday through Saturday shows are at 7:30 PM.  Sunday matinees are at 2 PM. Tickets are available for $15 and you may reserve advance tickets by calling the Isadoora box office at 920-493-3667. Tickets will also be sold at the door, subject to availability. Juniper Hall at Birch Creek Music Performance Center is located at 3821 County Road E, Egg Harbor.
