Isadoora Theatre Company invites interested community members to audition
for its upcoming production of Clifford Odets' Waiting for Lefty.
Set in the Depression era, the play is loosely based on the New York City taxi cab drivers’ strike of 1934. A series of vignettes dealing with the cynical exploitation of the working classes is framed by the meeting of the cab drivers’ union, which is debating
whether or not to stay off their jobs until their grievances are finally heard.
"One of the most celebrated and significant plays of the modern American theatre."
"...A powerful and stirring mosaic."
We are looking for several men and women of various ages. Participants do not need to prepare a monologue as there will be cold readings from the script, however those auditioning may also present a prepared piece, if they wish. There is no need to be present for the entire time slot, but plan to stay until you are heard.
Those wishing to audition should make every effort to appear at one of the audition sessions; however, those who cannot attend either audition session should call Isadoora at 920.493.3667 to set up an appointment.
Rehearsals will begin as soon as possible after casting
and will include some weekend dates.
Please call 920.493.3667 for further information.
Volunteers are also needed for work behind the scenes.
Please email email@example.com to volunteer.
Performances will be:
May 13-15 and 19-22, 2011 at Ephraim Village Hall
Shows Thurs., Fri. & Sat. at 7:30 PM and Sun. at 2:00 PM
